The Premise
On a recent excursion down to Mexico, Mike, Darrell and I took it upon ourselves to find our way into the day and night offerings of Cabo San Lucas. We were reserved on the availability of recreational Cannabis by our neighbors to the South and crossing international borders with our own supply was just too sketchy to even try. So we shook some hands locally and found our way to a local who sold us an eighth and a cartridge for $120 USD.
Let’s talk about the vape.
The Product
Kingpen Trainwreck Cannabis Vape Cartridge is a Hybrid strain packed at 1000mg with 71.72% total THC (717.2mg) and 0% CBD.
To quote Leafly’s product details,
When Mexican and Thai sativas are bred with Afghani indicas, the results are nothing less than being hit by a freight train. Trainwreck is a hybrid well-known for relaxation and euphoria.
The Review
I personally never give vape pens their due. My Cannabis upbringing heavily favors a good bong hit or a dutchie being passed to the left. Modern day recreation such as vaping eclipses my old techniques and this Kingpen vape cartridge opened my eyes into the quality and the economy you get from such a tiny contraption.
Quality – an attribute I reward a product for several reasons. In this case, let’s start from the outside and give credit to the packaging. No, it’s not the latest iPhone from Apple but the artistry rocks. It’s straight to the point, clearly labeled with what kind of punch it packs and I can’t ignore the face card references complimenting its branding. How was the hit you ask? It creeps up on you. You’re just sitting there socializing amongst your peers (or yourself at some point) feeling you’re at ground zero and then lift off. The feeling wasn’t necessarily sky high but you sincerely felt good. And to that, I have to tip my hat to the Kingpen team.
Economy – an attribute I reward a product for a long-term burn. To reiterate, I never gave vape pens their due. I just have this finicky perception that cheap pieces of plastic ruin the ceremony of a good hit. Yes, it’s subjective but again, to me a bong supersedes all other smoking devices. And that’s what got me reserved on purchasing this cartridge. Could such a tiny device last two nights in Mexico within a group of roughly 6 recreational Cannabis users? 🤔In short, yes.
Divided amongst six people at a rate of puff puff pass, this burn lasted several rotations before calling it quits at the end of the trip. And according to Darrell as we departed from Cabo, he had to toss it with roughly half of the oil left in the cartridge. Knowing that still hurts. 😔
That said, overall thoughts from the team?
Mike 👍, Mark 👍, Darrell👍
Adiós, and see you on the next review. 🤙🏾
